Life brings with it ups and down;
things such as kindness and goodness will be remembered always.
There was a point in my life that I got so frustrated that my kindness was being taken advantage of -- that I actually told God that I was tired of being the nice girl. It seemed as though kindness was judged on the scale as weakness.
Then to my surprise- The Spirit of God uttered back to me, “I'm Nice.” As I allowed his words to soak in, I thought on his daily goodness toward us, and how many times we fail to show him appreciation. There are times we reached out for more without being thankful for what he had already given, and yet he remains faithful in allowing the rise of the morning sun, and waters from the heavenly fountain; and not once has he allowed the sky to fall.
God wants us to be like him; we should at the least strive to be. When you know you have the quality of being nice, there is no need to continue to try to prove yourself to anyone.
Being nice doesn't mean to allow people to take advantage of you. God, with all of his goodness isn't being overbearing to prove his kindness to us. In this we know it's okay to leave people to their own opinions about us when we refuse to go along with their requests or demands.
Satan also misjudged God's kindness and thought very little of his goodness, which is why he sought to take away God's Throne from him. He underestimated God. Then to his surprise--he was cast out of the Kingdom of God. Jesus said that he beheld Satan fall from heaven like lighting.
- satan assumed gentleness meant weakness
- he assumed kindness had no strength
- he assumed grace was ignorant
- he assumed peace was deaf and blind
- he assumed meekness was fear
- he assumed faith was dead
- he assumed nice was helpless like a premature child
- he assumed love was stupid
- he assumed joy was drunkenness
- ...and he assumed incorrectly and received to himself an everlasting curse of damnation.
